Catienda is a website made by cat friends for cat friends who need information on cat nutrition, grooming and food products. Our goal is to provide basic tips and tools for you to manage the nutrition needs of your cat. We recommend products we have experienced as beneficial. Our reviews and guides are expertly written and offer quick overview of the topic. Our advice is not medical advice and you should always consult an veterinarian in case of medical or other issues. We try to describe the process which causes cat and it’s body to behave a certain way and show how nutrition could be the solution. We also demonstrate other tips and guiding principles to deal with the situation.
Who are we?
We are basically two guys who have owned cats for a long time now. During this time we have encountered various situations where we had to go online and do a thorough research in order to help our cats get better or just become healthier. The amount of information was overwhelming in sense that a lot of it was either contradictory or stemmed from unreliable sources. We decided to write down results of our thorough research and see if it might help others.

We are obviously not cats, but these two gentlemen in photos, along with few other cats do a lot of heavy lifting when it comes to testing cat food for Catienda. They are reason we do this and they are our inspiration. So instead of showing our ordinary human faces, we will show our cute cat friends.
Mark
Romano and me have been flatmates for five years now. He is energetic and demanding. Even though he is exclusively an indoor cat, he does not sleep all day and constantly begs for attention. His house adventures are well known to our vet as well who had to intervene in few cases when he did not think about safety when having fun around the house.
Peter
Flick came into my family’s life after a loss of our two previous cats. He is a stereotypical cat. He often behaves like a jerk. He likes to spend his time outdoor afternoon and night, when he hunts in the large garden area of our small town. He does not like touching unless he is hungry, which I then use to test newest cat food. He did develop quite an accustomed palate and is quite picky.

How Do We Make Our Cat Food Recommendations?
We rely on own research and consultations with our vets. Usually we get inspired to write when something goes wrong with any of our cats. We also get questions from neighbours and friends.
When that happens, many will know the feeling, person just gets in panic mode and just research and read everything to help our pat. Obviously, for cats it is similar as for humans, the worst things surface first when researching health issues. This has taught us to become more systematic and look for more evidence.
You will notice that we don’t have very long top lists for pure reason that we have to basically buy each product and test it by feeding it to our cats, and in some cases to our friends’ cats when they agree. While our selections might be limited, we have great confidence in the quality of our recommendations because our cats are always actively involved in the rating process.
